Assessment Services

Psychological assessments provide clarity, direction, and a deeper understanding of an individual’s strengths, challenges, and support needs. At For You Psychology, all assessments are conducted with compassion, evidence-based practice, and a neuroaffirming approach.

We offer comprehensive assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, tailored to each person’s developmental stage and presenting concerns.

ADHD Assessments Children, Teens & Adults

Our ADHD assessments are thorough, structured, and designed to explore attention, executive functioning, behaviour patterns, and real-world functioning across different settings.

An ADHD assessment typically includes:

  • A detailed clinical interview
  • Standardised diagnostic tools (such as DIVA-5 or equivalent)
  • Behaviour rating scales from parents, teachers, and/or the individual
  • Exploration of executive functioning and daily challenges
  • A clear, comprehensive diagnostic report with personalised recommendations

This process provides clarity not only about the diagnosis, but also about how to support the individual at home, school, work, and in everyday life.

Autism Assessments Children, Teens & Adults

Our Autism assessments are neuroaffirming, strengths-focused, and developmentally sensitive. We look beyond checklists to understand sensory needs, communication style, emotional patterns, social preferences, and lived experiences.

An Autism assessment may include:

  • A detailed developmental history
  • ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview–Revised)
  • ADOS-2 (where appropriate)
  • Sensory profiling and behavioural observations
  • Evaluation of strengths and support needs
  • A thorough diagnostic report with meaningful, practical recommendations

We aim to provide clarity and validation, along with guidance that supports the individual’s wellbeing at home, school, work, and in the community.

Cognitive & Learning Assessments

These assessments help understand how a child or young person thinks, learns, and processes information. They identify learning profiles, academic strengths, and specific areas that may require support or adjustments.

We provide:

  • Cognitive Assessments (WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WAIS-IV)
  • Academic / Learning Assessments (WIAT and related tools for reading, writing, and maths)
  • Executive functioning evaluations
  • Clear recommendations for learning support, classroom accommodations, and targeted intervention.

These assessments are especially valuable for concerns related to giftedness, learning difficulties, school engagement, or academic progress.

What You Receive

Every assessment includes a detailed, clinically rigorous diagnostic report, written in clear language and tailored to the individual’s needs. Reports are suitable for:

  • Paediatricians
  • Psychiatrists
  • Schools and learning support teams
  • NDIS reports or plan reviews
  • University or workplace accommodations

Our goal is to provide answers, direction, and a supportive roadmap that empowers individuals and families to move forward with confidence.
