Fees & Rebates
We recognise that the cost of psychological care can be an important consideration when seeking support.
For the 2026–27 financial year, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) suggests a fee of $330 for a standard 46–60 minute psychology consultation, while the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) recommends $340 for a standard 40–60 minute consultation.
At For You Psychology, we have chosen to keep our standard consultation fee well below these professional fee recommendations, while continuing to provide comprehensive, individualised psychological care.
Standard Session Pricing
Standard 50-Minute Consultation
Available for both in-person and Telehealth psychological consultations.
After-Hours & Weekend Consultation
Includes a $15 after-hours/weekend surcharge, subject to availability.
What Else to Know
Medicare
Clients attending with an eligible Medicare referral may receive the applicable Medicare rebate, reducing the out-of-pocket cost of their appointment
Psychological Assessments
Assessment fees vary depending on the type and scope of assessment required. The total fee and all inclusions will be clearly discussed prior to commencement.
NDIS & Workers Compensation
NDIS and NSW Workers Compensation services are billed in accordance with the relevant funding arrangements and applicable fee schedules.
Looking for a Lower-Cost Option?
We understand that private psychology fees may not be affordable for everyone at every stage. If our fees are not manageable for you at present and you are seeking free, low-cost or bulk-billed mental health support, you may wish to:
- speak with your GP about bulk-billing or lower-cost psychology services available in your area;
- contact Medicare Mental Health on 1800 595 212 for assistance finding appropriate local mental health services; or
- visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre, which provides free mental health support without requiring a referral, appointment or Mental Health Treatment Plan.
We encourage you to access the service that is most appropriate and financially sustainable for your circumstances.
